Assignments for the week of November 17 - 21

Hello to All!

A few quick notes....

For Physics:

Today we began Chapter 10 - Fluids. I'll post the homework problems in the next day or so.

No school Wednesday

On Thursday and Friday we'll work on the assigned problems from Chapter 10

For Calculus:

Today we went over some questions from the take home test.

No school Wednesday

On Thursday and Friday, we'll work on Section 4.1

**Unfortunately, this is a broken week too. We have conferences on Wednesday and so we lose that day. I know many of you won't be here on Friday because of a retreat in Michigan. Have fun, but be safe and smart. See you Monday.

Outlook for the week of November 10 - 14

Good Monday Morning:

We will not have classes on Tuesday or Wednesday. The Mitzvah fair will be taking place.

This morning in Physics we began Chapter 7 - Linear Momentum.

The problems from this chapter are as follows:

Physics: 1, 3, 5, 6, 14, 15, 21, 30
AP Physics: 1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 16, 18, 23, 25, 33

We'll work on these problems on Thursday and Friday. Expect a test on Chapter 7 on Monday, which is our test day for science.

In Calculus, today we worked on derivatives of ln and e. Over the next couple of days, work on log and a derivatives. I'd like to wrap this chapter (3) up by the end of this week and move on to something brand new - Chapter 4 which deals with applications of the derivative. It should be new and interesting!!!

That's about all I have for now. Please try to do some work over the next two days.

See you soon.

Outlook for Wednesday Nov 5 - Friday Nov 7

Good Morning!

Good grief, it is already Wednesday morning; first quarter is over, the big election is over; our mock election is over; and now we can focus on Physics and Calculus!!!!

Grades for the first quarter are due today, and I will turn them in to Dr. Balas.

With no classes yesterday, we will begin today where we left off on Monday.

For Physics,

On Monday we worked on problems from Chapter 6 Work and Energy.

The assigned problems are as follows:
Physics ----- 1, 3, 5, 17, 19, 20, 29, 30, 31, 35, 49, 59
AP Physics --------7, 8, 10, 21, 23, 33, 39, 40, 41, 51, 61

After finishing a Power related problem at the board this morning,
you will have the period to work on these problems and ask questions.

Thursday -- short (2 problems) quiz on Chapter 6 material

Friday --- Introduction to Chapter 7 - Linear Momentum. Also, assign take home problems (test-like) due next week.

*****Read Chapter 7 over the weekend!!!!************************

For Calculus:

Today (Wed) we'll go over any questions you have from the second half of Chapter 3.

There will be a test tomorrow, that will spill over into Friday, so that you don't feel so rushed. It will cover the Chain Rule and derivatives of trig functions.

Over the weekend, please look over the first couple of sections of Chapter 4 so you will be familiar with what is coming next week.

Have a great week everyone......

I should also say that you did good work the first quarter. Please stay motivated and do those problems!!!!
