Assignments for the week of August 25 - 29

Good Monday Morning!!!

Welcome to our first full week of the 2008-2009 year.

For Physics:

Monday: Today (after a brief interruption for a fire drill), we went over the mathematics worksheet. It is a very helpful review of some geometry and trigonometry (and algebra).

Tuesday/Wednesday: We have been talking about Chapter 2 in our text, which is Kinematics in One Dimension. The assigned problems from this chapter are #3, 5, 9, 15, 19, 23, 25, 27, 37, and 41. These two days will be a combination of working on your own and doing some example problems together at the board.

*** AP students also have a worksheet - multiple choice and free response questions.

Thursday: No class due to special assembly. Work on your problems at home though!!!!

Friday: Short quiz over Chapter 2.

Over the weekend, please read Chapter 3, Kinematics in 2 dimensions.

For Calculus:

Monday: We went over questions from your homework from 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.5. You all did a nice job. We are now looking at additional problems from Section 1.5: #1-7, 11, 15, 21, 23, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, and 45.

**AP students should additionally do # 46, 47, 48, and 52 - 57.

Tuesday/Wednesday: We'll discuss section 1.6 which covers trigonometric functions. Problems assigned will include #1-22 all.

**AP students should additionally do #50 - 55.

Thursday: No class due to special assembly.

Friday: Review any final questions from Chapter 1. Pull all problems together.

**AP students will have an additional worksheet.

Over the weekend, review Chapter 1 for a quiz on Tuesday after the long weekend.

Have a nice Labor Day weekend!!!!

Welcome to a new school year!

Welcome back everyone!

I am so excited to be back, and I am gradually getting back into the groove of a new routine. I am sure you all feel the same way.

We have 2 great classes this year --- Calculus and Physics. You all are a very intelligent group, and I know that you will do a wonderful job, both in class and (for those who will take) the AP exams in the spring.

Beginning Monday, there will be a weekly event/topic/assignment schedule for you to access on this blog. It helps me to plan the week, and it helps you if you missed a day or want to work ahead.

Again, I am very much looking forward to a great year!!!

See you tomorrow.
