Assignments for the week of February 25 - 29

Good Monday Morning!!

Last week unfortunately was pretty chopped up. No school Monday, one day Tuesday and then most of our class went to play in a basketball tourney on Wednesday!!!

So.......

We'll pretty much have last week's schedule for this week with a few changes:

For Physics:

On Monday we'll work on Chapter 14 - Heat On Tuesday and Wednesday we'll work on Chapter 15 - Thermodynamics. I'll give you Thursday and Friday to work on problems by yourselves, and then there will be a test on chapters 13, 14, and 15, on Monday, March 3, so plan accordingly!!!!

For Calculus:

On Monday we'll do something new. In prep for the AP exam, I'll take one class period every so often (usually will be on Friday) to go over actual problems from past AP exams, and you will keep these problems and make yourselves an AP study guide. I think this will help you organize for the test, as well as give you confidence when you know you are chipping away at the exam piece by piece, and mastering concepts. The rest of the week we'll continue integration using U substitution on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, there will be a test on Integration concepts that we've covered so far. This exam will be 2 days; Thursday and Friday, and will cover LRAM, RRAM, MRAM, the trapezoid method, definite integrals, indefinite integrals and U substitution. Again, plan your week accordingly.

Have a great and productive week!!!

Assignments for the week of February 18 - 22

Good Morning!

Monday is President's Day, so we all got a little extra time to catch up on our studies and our sleep (hopefully).

For Physics:

On Tuesday and Wednesday we'll work on Chapter 15 - Thermodynamics. I'll give you Thursday and Friday to work on problems by yourselves, and then there will be a test on chapters 13, 14, and 15, on Monday, February 25, so plan accordingly!!!!

Assignments for the week of February 11 - 15

Good Monday Morning!

I was so pleased with the work we accomplished last week. Everything is on schedule for the end-of-the year AP exams.

This week:

For Physics:

Monday: problems from Chapter 13 - Temperature and Kinetic Theory. This is a quick chapter.

Tuesday: Begin Chapter 14 - Heat

Wednesday: Problems from Chapter 14

Thursday: Begin Chapter 15 - Thermodynamics

Friday: workday on Chapter 15 problems.

Test on these 3 heat realated chapters will be Wednesday, February 20. On Monday and Tuesday of next week we will make sure all of our work is done and review any concepts that may still seem difficult. These chapters, however, will seem quite familiar to you, as you have learned a great deal of the information here in Physical Science and Chemistry.

For Calculus:

Everybody worked so hard last week beginning Integration problems.

Remember, you still need to turn in the take home exam on Max/min and Related rates by Wednesday, February 13.

This week we will focus on the packet I assigned on Friday. I will give you Monday and Tuesday to work on it.

Wednesday: Test on the material in the packet, which is basically 5.1 - 5.4

Thursday: Wrap up Chapter 5 by covering some special cases of Integration.

Friday: Workday on remaining problems from Chapter 5

Next week we will begin working on Chapter 6 - applications of Integrals.

Have a great week!!!!

Assignments for the week of February 4 - 8

Good Monday Morning!

This should be a fun and exciting week. In both classes, we will begin very new and different topics.

For Physics:

On Monday, we will finish the problems from Chapter 12. We a a bit behind because of our snow day on Friday, but I would still plan on a test over the second half of Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 on Tuesday, unless everyone is very upset by this. On Wednesday we will begin studying the first of 3 chapters on heat and thermodynamics. This will be very interesting. I will assign specific problems from Ch 13, 14 and 15 on Wednesday, and we will work on these for the remainder of the week.

For Calculus:

On Monday, we will take one more day to examine max/min and related rates problems from Chapter 4 and I will give you a take home test on these two topics. The exam will be due back to me on Monday, February 11. On Tuesday we will begin the second half of our course -- Integral Calculus.... and we will be covering 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 rather quickly. I would like to get through these 3 sections this week. They are mostly theory.

Have a great week. It will be a busy one!!!
